Lots of activity here in Austin for the kick off of SXSWi. Brands are putting social media to work, with the best use I’ve seen thus far being at the purevolume house (http://www.purevolume.com/thehouse). They have large screens set up live tracking their twitter traffic, similar to what skittles did on their homepage. I found it very effective because its sharing an immediate physical experience, as well as a virtual one. Pepsi is also trying to cash in by aggregating twits of a variety of SXSW related hash tags.
